Titan Poker Offers Players a Taste of the Exotic Far East at APT Manila 2009

Titan Poker spices up the table action with the launch of its Asian Poker Tour (APT) Manila 2009 tournament series offering weekly chances to compete for Eastern poker treasures in January.

It’s not every day that players are offered a chance to kick start the New Year with a taste of an exotic Eastern culture and a share of millions of dollars. The recent launch of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Manila 2009 Satellite Series at popular online poker room Titan Poker has certainly given those looking for a fresh and lucrative start to 2009 cause for celebration.

The highest profile stop on the expanding Asian Poker Tour (APT) circuit, the APT Manila tournament has gained a reputation as one of most exciting poker destinations in the world.

From the moment of its first running in May 2008, the APT Manila’s prize pool and the level of talent continue to reach new heights. The first tournament boasted a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool and attracted 315 talented poker players from all over the world. Neighboring Australian poker pro David Saab made history as the first APT Manila winner after taking home $280,000.

Not to be outdone, the second stop on the Asian Poker Tour circuit was staged in Macau in August 2008 with an inflated prize offering of $1,500,000. In a surprising victory, twenty-year-old Yevgeniy Timoshenko of the United States claimed first prize winnings to the tune of $500,000.

The exciting poker action and growing prize pools offered by the 2009 Asian Poker Tour are guaranteed to attract even greater scores of elite players from Asia-Pacific and the rest of the world to unique and vibrant Manila.

Titan Poker is offering players a number of chances to play for the treasures of the Philippines in its series of twice-weekly Super Satellites staged every Thursday and Saturday from October 26th to January 15th.

  • For Satellite buy-ins under a dollar ($0.55 + $0.05), players could be on their way to an unforgettable Eastern experience.

Antonio Esfandiari Day 1a Leader - WPT Festa Al Lago

Antonio Esfandiari Leads WPT FESTA AL LAGOFinally the Antonio Esfandiari also called “The Magician” (that’s it, man he is a magician) broke his kinda “badrun” (this dude won millions anyway).

He is the chip leader for WPT Festa Al Lago  with 313.000 chips.

The funny thing is that the 2nd in chips have only 200k (It’s this kinda unknown Nick Sliwinski).

The leadership has been mostly attributed to a confrontation with the November Nine’s Scott Montgomery (I don’t like him). Esfandiari had a set and the stupid Montgomery check raised all-in. Esfandiari was so happy to call that he couldn’t stand it. He almost cryed of happyness, ffs.

Montgomery I don’t like you still I don’t know you and you might be a wonderful human…OR NOT. (J/K anyway don’t sue me)

THE MOST FUNNY THING ABOUT FESTA AL LAGO: MICHAEL PHELPS.

The already world-wide-well-known Michael “Aquaman” Phelps was escorted to the Fontana Lounge by the  Phil Hellmuth Jr.

Note: Aquaman Phelps won (only) 14 Olimpic Gold Medals meaning that he is an alien or something..

The Top Five Chip Counts

The top five chip counts feature some more big names with big stacks. Right behind Esfandiari and Sliwinski is Jennifer Tilly with 195,050 and Andrew “good2cu” Robl is in fifth with 173,450. Also having a strong start to the tournament were Joe Sebok (142,050), Johnny Chan (138,000), Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron (116,825) and Allen Cunningham (105,825).

Day 1a bought 153 players whose paid $15k entry each, meaning 2.3M only with entry fees.

WSOP 2008 - MAIN EVENT - Day 2a

wsop-2008-main-event-day-2aHi, all again. I’ve been reading about the second day of this year’s WSOP and I can’t believe the high quantity of NON-FAMOUS poker players around. Seems that the WSOP system is made to prevent the same pro winning over and over.

I mean, man what the hell is the TV selling to us. They say that Negreanu, Hellmuth, Ivey, Hansen, Farha, Greenstein, Texas Dolly (among others) are the best but they didn’t got into the second day of the wsop 2008.

Only Patrick Antonius and Antonio Esfandiari  made it. Oh and also some poker girls that I can’t  recall her names.

Anyway, I just got the updated (4 hours ago, check post time/date) chips leaderboard

Brian Schaedlich $745,000
Jeremiah Smith $416,000
Hunter Frey $400,000
Brandon Adams $371,000
Ronald Adams $365,000
Patrick Fortin $355,000
David “Chino” Rheem $340,000
Farhad Sinaei $312,000
Kellen Hunter $282,000
Garth Paul $265,000

WSOP 2008 - MAIN EVENT

Hi, the World Series of Poker 2008 (wsop) finally reached the Main Event and more important is that it reached the interesting instances of the tournament. Second days into the final table of the wsop 2008 main event.

First 4 qualifying days are over. Most of the Pros got eliminated on this days and imho there was a problem with the days organization, since the 4 days where played one after another.

Means that people couldn’t rest properly. You could only play day 1a and day 1c, or day 1b and day 1d. Etc. Humoungous failure at the wsop organization.

  • Anyway the dudes already played day 2a and prolly you can find a boring report around the web.

The good news are that ESPN 2 will cover the entire thingy and aparently they have more crew than usual, so get ready for awesome shoots on the WSOP 2008 Final table :D

Btw, did u saw espn radio? ffs it’s a piece of crap.

Stay tuned.
